Karachi: The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Commission (SUPARCO) has declared 2025 as a milestone for Pakistan in the field of space research and science.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan’s first astronaut will be sent to the Chinese space station in 2026.
The SUPARCO spokesperson said that this year was a milestone in the field of space research and space science in the history of Pakistan.
The commission has sent 3 major Pakistani satellites into space in 2025.
The statement given by SUPARCO stated that in January 2025, Pakistan’s first electro-optical satellite was sent into space from China.
In the same year, another remote sensing satellite of Pakistan was sent into space from the Chinese launch centre in July.
The mission significantly increased Pakistan’s earth observing capabilities.
The spokesperson further added that in October 2025, Suparco sent Pakistan’s first hyperspectral satellite into space.
After which, Pakistan’s satellites in space increased to seven.
He said that Pakistan’s Astronaut Program was a major achievement made by Pakistan in the field of space this year.
The Suparco spokesperson said that Pakistan’s first astronaut will be sent to the Chinese space station in 2026.
