Punjab Bar Council has suspended the license of Mian Ali Ashfaq, the famous lawyer advocating for incarcerated retired General Faiz Hameed. It is important to mention here that Mian Ali Ashfaq was also helping YouTuber Rajab Butt in legal matters.
After suspending the license of Mian Ali Ashfaq, the executive committee of the Punjab Bar Council referred his case to the Disciplinary Committee for a permanent cancellation of his license.
According to the Bar Council, the action against Mian Ali Ashfaq was taken due to professional misconduct by appearing in the Karachi city court with his client, Rajab Butt, at the time of the judicial strike. Punjab Bar Council confirmed that Mian Ali Ashfaq violated the rule by appearing in the court despite a complete ban on proceedings.
The statement said that the lawyer violated court rules by appearing with private security personnel. It added that he faced strong objections for making remarks against the legal community, actions that the Council said undermined unity and dignity within the bar and amounted to unacceptable professional conduct.
