Peshawar roof collapse kills 6

Peshawar: Six persons, including woman and children, were killed when the roof of a house collapsed in Khair Abad Matta area of Shabqadar tehsil, Peshawar.

As per rescue services details that in the incidence under the debris several women and children were trapped.

According to officials the rescue teams are actively engaged in removing the rubble to reach those trapped and the deceased include women and children aged between two and 14 years.

The injured have been immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment and rescue operations remain underway.

Earthquake shakes Balochistan’s Chaman

Earlier it was reported that the earthquake tremors jolted the border town of Chaman and surrounding areas, with no loss of life reported so far.

As per details, the earthquake was also felt in the Loralai town and its suburbs.

According to the Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake registered a magnitude of 3.5 and struck at a depth of 20 km. The epicenter was located 23 km south-west of Loralai.

The tremor sparked panic among the public, with many people reciting the Kalma and rushing outdoors. No casualties or damage to property have been reported.

Sibi Earthquake

Earthquake tremors jolted Sibi district of Balochistan and surrounding areas of district with no damage reported so far.

According to seismic centre officials, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale while the depth was recorded at nearly ten kilometres.

The seismic centre stated in its report that the epicentre was located approximately 60 kilometres north-east of Sibi.

However, the tremors did not last long. There are no reports of damage or casualties so far. But authorities continue to monitor the situation.
