DHAKA: Bangladesh has announced their squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, 4th January 2026. The squad announcement comes amid Bangladesh’s demands to move its matches from India to Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh is now considered a strong and influential side in cricket; however, they have yet to win an ICC tournament. They will be looking to change that this T20I World Cup.

Bangladesh will be led by Litton Das at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Sri Lanka and India. The World Cup will be conducted in February-March, and the Tigers have announced a dangerous squad.

So far, Bangladesh has participated in every T20 World Cup yet but has never managed to qualify for the semi-finals or beyond. The Bangladeshi fans are hopeful that this will change in 2026.

The Tigers, led by Das, will seek to rewrite history in 2026. They will be relying heavily on their balanced bowling attack led by the experienced Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rehman. Bangladesh will also have the advantage of familiarity this World Cup, as they have played in Sri Lanka and India consistently. Other bowlers include Nasum Ahmed, Rishad Hossain and Mahedi Hasan. These players have performed admirably in past and will be real threats to enemy batters this tournament.

The batting will heavily rely on the skipper. However, Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan will be adding much-needed striking power to the top order.

Bangladesh will be facing a big challenge in this World Cup. They have found themselves in a tough group featuring England, West Indies, Nepal and Italy. Only 2 teams will be qualifying for the Super 8.
