WEBDESK: Bushra Ansari, veteran actor and television personality, has issued a strong public warning on her Instagram against what she described as “cheap tactics” and “cheap pages” being used on social media platforms to impersonate her and solicit in the name of charity.

On her Instagram, in a video, Ansari showed her frustration over the growing number of fake accounts using her name to defraud the public.

The video posted on her Instagram was titled “Now bhikaris (beggars) on social media are using my fake IDs.”

In the video, Ansari condemned the scammers on social media who repeatedly use her image to exploit the public. According to her, several fraudulent accounts have been created using her photos from the internet or directly from her official social media profiles. These accounts ask people for donations. She called these scammers the most shameless people in the world.

She highlighted one of the most recent fake accounts that had used a photo of her in which she was wearing a bindi. She urged her followers and fans not to fall for such tactics and reminded them to first confirm whether it’s her or someone impersonating her. According to Bushra Ansari, scammers have repeatedly used her personal images to run scamming campaigns.

She further added that she has repeatedly reported numerous fake pages, but the number of fake accounts running scams is so big that there is no end to this problem. She made it clear to her fans and followers that she has never asked for funds or donations online. She stressed that when she helps someone, she does it privately, not publicly. Ansari urged the fans not to send donations to anyone impersonating her.

To prevent further confusion, Ansari reiterated the details of her official social media presence. She confirmed that her verified Instagram handle is ansari.bushra, while on Facebook, she is active under the name Bushra Bashir, along with another account featuring her character Saima Chaudhry as the display picture.

Her warning serves as a broader reminder of the prevalence of online scams, particularly those exploiting celebrity identities. Users are advised to remain vigilant, verify accounts carefully, and avoid responding to unsolicited appeals for money circulating on social media platforms.
