China’s Tianjin University has announced the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Program 2026 Type B.
The scholarship is open to applicants from different academic backgrounds.
It is available for candidates in engineering, sciences, management, humanities, and social sciences.
Eligibility criteria
Tianjin University is offering a wide range of postgraduate programs under this scheme.
A total of 104 master’s and 125 PhD programs are available.
Out of these, 29 master’s and 55 PhD programs are taught in English.
Eligibility criteria include a minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 or an equivalent score.
PhD applicants must have at least one published academic paper.
All candidates have to meet the academic and language requirements of their selected program.
Last date
The last date to submit applications for the scholarship is January 18, 2026.
Type B international scholarship: benefits and requirements
The Chinese Government Scholarship Type B provides full financial support during the study period that has been approved at Tianjin University.
This means that it covers full tuition fees. Students also receive accommodation in a university hostel.
They can also get a housing allowance instead. Medical insurance is also included in it.
Under the scholarship, students will receive a monthly stipend. Master’s students will get 3,500 Chinese yuan per month.
PhD students will also receive 3,500 Chinese yuan per month.
However, international airfare is not included in the scholarship.
The scholarship is granted for the full standard duration of the master’s or PhD program.
Continuation of the scholarship is dependent on how satisfactory the academic performance of student is.
Applicants whose native language is not English and who did not study previously in English must submit proof of language proficiency.
They can provide a TOEFL score of at least 80 or an IELTS Academic score of at least 6.0.
For programs taught in Chinese, applicants must have HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 180.
A valid HSK certificate is a mandatory document for the application.
