KP government reshuffles over 40 senior officers in one day, raises questions

KP government

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring more than 40 senior officers in a single day, the private media channel reported.

The Establishment Department issued official notifications for the appointments and transfers, affecting secretaries, directors general and managing directors across various departments. The sudden and large-scale reshuffle has triggered concern within administrative circles.

The mass transfers have raised serious questions about whether the move was driven by administrative needs or external pressure. Sources claim allegations are circulating that millions of rupees were taken in exchange for certain postings, particularly in sensitive departments.

Questions have also emerged over whether the alleged funds could be used for political activities and whether the government will order investigations into the reported financial irregularities. The opposition and civil society have called for transparent inquiries into the matter.
