Bitcoin set for another year of high volatility in 2026

Bitcoin 2026

It is expected that Bitcoin will experience another year of extreme volatility and potentially record-breaking price moves.

Industry analysts’ survey conducted by CNBC, Bitcoin can see both decrease and increase in 2026. It can go to a minimum of $75,000 and a staggering high of $225,000.

The reason for this wide divergence is a complex backdrop of shifting monetary policy, questions about institutional demand and regulatory uncertainty.

The current value of Bitcoin is around $91,000. This is a 30 per cent decrease from the all-time high of $126,000, which Bitcoin achieved in October 2025.

Bit mining’s chief economist, Youwei Yang, predicted the trading range of $75,000 to $225,000. He cited potential interest rate cuts and an upcoming more accommodating regulatory stance with macroeconomic risk.

Several major financial firms have shared their latest predictions for Bitcoin’s price, with more cautious expectations than before.

Standard Chartered now forecasts the price of Bitcoin to get to $150,000, reducing from their earlier $300,000 forecast. The bank says future rises in price are likely to mostly arise from people acquiring bitcoin in exchange-traded funds (ETFs), rather than companies putting bitcoin on their balance sheets.

Maple Finance predicts that Bitcoin may fly to around $175,000. This outlook is based on anticipated interest rate cuts and increasing use of the bitcoin as collateral for loans.

CoinShares assumes Bitcoin might go between $120,000 and $170,000. However, the firm believes that most of the price movement is likely to come later in the year, when there is more clarity around regulations and future decisions by the US Federal Reserve.

Overall, analysts agree that the major drivers of change will be the US Federal Reserve Policy, the sustained flow of funds into spot Bitcoin ETFs, and the potential passage of crypto regulatory legislation. These will be the most significant price catalysts for the upcoming year.
