Pakistan will observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 to pay tribute to the struggles of the Kashmiri people against the oppression of Indian rule.
A day has been declared a public holiday as per the yearly holidays announced by the Cabinet Division.
On the day, Pakistan will pay tribute to the Kashmiri people’s ongoing struggle for freedom and great sacrifices against Indian rule and oppression.
Rallies, walks, seminars and special prayer events will be organised across the country to express solidarity with the Kashmiris, while human chains will also be formed at various places as an expression of national solidarity.
The government has directed state institutions and the media to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue and increase awareness in this regard at the national and international levels.
Special programs will be broadcast on television and radio on this occasion, which will shed detailed light on the historical background of the Kashmir issue and the current situation.
Strict security arrangements are likely to be made in major cities to ensure the peaceful conduct of Kashmir Solidarity Day, while law enforcement agencies will remain fully alert during rallies and public gatherings.
Political and religious leaders will address various events and reiterate their resolve that it is imperative that the Kashmir issue be resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
