Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday clarified the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of a recent ordinance.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said that nowadays, the e-Office system is in place.
Through it, the files are approved online.
He stated that the ordinance in question was also approved through this system.
Adding that it was considered approved at the staff-to-staff level.
However, he explained that when the signed files were received.
The ordinance did not carry the required signatures, even though it had already been printed.
He termed it a mistake that was later rectified.
The minister further said that any bill sent to the president after a joint session of parliament can be held by the president for up to ten days.
In line with goodwill, those bills were also not notified. As the president had not given approval.
Azam Nazeer Tarar said that the Pakistan Peoples Party and the PML-N share good relations, and it was due to this understanding that the ordinance was withdrawn.
He added that such matters would continue to be handled through mutual consultation and consensus in the future.
