The advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) of Qatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar, Dr Majed bin Muhammad al Ansari, has confirmed that the US and Iran will continue the discussions in the future.
In his post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Majed al Ansari said that Qatar & Pakistan mediators concluded separate meetings with the US & Iranian negotiators in Doha today, with positive progress made on issues related to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), building on the outcomes of the Lake Lucerne Summit.
He added that the parties (both the US and Iran) have agreed to continue discussions over the coming period, with the next meeting to be scheduled at the earliest possible time following the funeral processions of the former Iranian Supreme Leader.

The foreign affairs spokesperson of Qatar stated that after concluding the funeral of the Iranian Supreme leader, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, on July 9, there will be another round of the US-Iran talks as soon as possible.
The joint statement regarding the conclusion of the Lake Lucerne Summit between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been released by the State of Qatar and Pakistan.
According to the post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Pakistan on X, formerly known as Twitter, the State of Qatar and Pakistan have confirmed that the first high-level committee meeting under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and with the participation of the United States (US) and Iran, has been concluded successfully.

The post further stated that the Lake Lucerne Summit has been conducted in a positive and constructive way.
The statement further says that based on the MoU, the parties have agreed to the establishment of a High-Level Committee, which will provide political oversight of the mediation.
The chief negotiators will report regularly to the High-Level Committee and lead working groups focused on nuclear issues, sanctions, and a monitoring and dispute-resolution group to ensure the effective implementation of the MoU, as well as other matters.
In order to make things work, the US and Iran have also agreed to a road map of 60-days for the final agreement.
To avoid any miscommunication regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a communication line between the parties has been established for the period mentioned in Paragraph 5 of the MoU to avoid any kind of confusion and incidents, with an aim of ensuring safe passage for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
As per the joint statement, both of the parties agreed on the creation of a de-confliction cell between the parties, the Lebanese Republic, and facilitated by the mediators, to ensure adherence to the termination of military operations in Lebanon as per the MoU. Technical talks will continue for the remainder of the week at the Bürgenstock resort on all issues.
Pakistan and Qatar have announced their continuous support in the means of mediation efforts till the day until a final agreement is reached between the US and Qatar.
The State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan also expressed their sincere appreciation to the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment to diplomacy and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
The mediating parties further commend brotherly and friendly countries for their continued support and valuable contribution to the ongoing negotiations.
