The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has warned the public to avoid illegal online investment platforms that are operating without official approval.
Illegal online investment platforms
In a statement, the SECP named Hill House Capital, Hill House Investment, and S169 Wharton as unauthorised and illegal platforms.
According to the details, these entities are misleading people with false promises of high profits.
The SECP further explained that such platforms often use attractive claims and fake marketing to lure investors.
After they are successful, they then disappear with the money.
The commission has reported these illegal platforms to the relevant authorities for action.
The regulator advised the public to invest only through SECP-licensed brokers and companies.
They have warned the people not to deposit money on websites, apps, or platforms that are not officially approved.
Investors have been urged to verify the status of any company before sending money.
According to the SECP said taking a few minutes to check can help prevent major financial losses.
Online investment scams are increasing in Pakistan. This can put many people at risk of losing their savings.
A similar warning was issued on December 10, 2025.
It was to alert the public to unlicensed online trading platforms, websites, and mobile applications targeting investors.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) previously also issued a warning to mobile users about fake calls and UAN numbers.
The authority said scammers are pretending to be from the PTA, FIA, and banks to steal personal information.
In an awareness video, the PTA reminded people that no government organisation will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, identity card number, or biometrics.
The PTA warned the public to “Beware of Spoofed Calls & Fake UAN Numbers!”
The awareness video reminded users, “No official organisation will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CNIC, or biometrics on a call or message.”
It added, “Stay alert and verify information only through official channels.”
