Pakistan has received an invitation from United States (US) President Donald Trump to join Gaza Board of Peace.
According to a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to media queries, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Tahir Andrabi, stated the following.
“The Prime Minister of Pakistan has received the invitation from the President of the United States to join the Board of Peace on Gaza. Pakistan will remain engaged with international efforts for peace and security in Gaza, leading to a lasting solution to the Palestine issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions.”
As part of this ongoing effort, President Trump has extended invitations to heads of state from various countries to join the proposed Peace Board. The board’s mandate includes promoting post-ceasefire stability, ensuring unhindered aid access, restoring essential infrastructure, and advancing long-term political solutions through collaborative international action. Notably, Pakistan’s Prime Minister has received an invitation to participate in this pivotal body.
This invitation represents a highly positive and prestigious moment for Pakistan, marking a successful diplomatic breakthrough. Analysts view it as a clear indicator of Pakistan’s enhanced international reputation, increased diplomatic influence, and growing global trust.
The achievement stems from Pakistan’s sustained state-level diplomacy, timely engagements, and strategic approaches aligned with national interests. This includes seamless integration of civil and military diplomatic efforts, demonstrating a cohesive and effective foreign policy framework.
International observers now regard Pakistan as a responsible, mature, and proactive player in driving solutions to complex global issues.
Pakistan’s potential involvement or positive response is not rooted in partisan camp politics but in a genuine commitment to alleviating the sufferings inflicted on the Palestinian people, particularly the innocent and defenceless civilians in Gaza, through practical support for a fair and sustainable resolution.
Pakistan has consistently advocated for Palestine’s right to self-determination, the protection of civilians, an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid delivery, and comprehensive reconstruction initiatives.
In this light, the invitation offers Pakistan a valuable opportunity to transcend rhetorical statements and assume a tangible role on the global stage. It enables Islamabad to amplify its voice in international forums to address the humanitarian crisis, while embedding its principled positions into decisions that directly impact Palestinian lives.
The participation of Pakistan’s government and Prime Minister in this crucial board aligns with the broader Muslim Ummah’s collective aspirations, providing a platform to fulfill shared humanitarian and Islamic responsibilities in solidarity.
Pakistan has never been a mere bystander or silent observer in the Palestinian cause. As a responsible nation, it seeks to actively support the oppressed, extend human compassion, and contribute to a justice-based political settlement.
