The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially started preparations for the upcoming KP local elections.
In order to ensure fair and transparent local elections, the schedule specifically focuses on establishing the boundaries of Village Councils and Neighbourhood Councils throughout these districts.
Under the issued schedule, all administrative arrangements and preparatory work are expected to be completed between January 19 and February 2, 2026.
From February 3 to March 4, the delimitation committees will prepare the preliminary lists of Village and Neighbourhood Councils in all the districts.
The preliminary lists are scheduled to be published on March 5, 2026, after which citizens will have the opportunity to raise objections. From March 6 to March 25, individuals and local authorities can submit their complaints or objections to the relevant delimitation authorities regarding the proposed boundaries.
The Election Commission has stated that all objections will be reviewed and resolved by April 8.
In the final phase of the schedule, the ECP will release the final list of Village and Neighbourhood Council boundaries on April 20, 2026, completing the delimitation process.
