Toyota Indus Motors has announced the most phenomenal price cut for their iconic Off-road SUV – Toyota Fortuner – in order to celebrate the 35th anniversary of this Japanese giant in Pakistan, on January 19.
Industry insiders have revealed that the result of this historic drop in price was the combined measure of the government and the company, as government’s tax reduction was Rs1.5 million and Toyota’s own margin absorbed Rs1 million.
The combined effect is a whopping Rs2.5 million cut, which ranks among the biggest price cuts by a major car manufacturer of Pakistan in recent times.
After the price revision, Fortuner G is currently priced at Rs12,435,000 and Fortuner V at Rs14,935,000 following a Rs 2.57 million slash.
Auto enthusiasts and future purchasers have responded with joy, and have swarmed their dealerships and started an upswing in interest throughout the vehicle market.
Industry observers are hailing such a move as a game-changer, because it makes the buying of a Fortuner far more achievable for many more consumers.
Talking in a podcast, the Indus Motors CEO Ali Asghar Jamali explained more about the rationale behind the price cut. He explained that the government tax relief contributed Rs1.5 million and Toyota added from its own profit margin Rs1 million.
According to Jamali, the huge cut-off of Rs2.5 million has brought widespread discussions across the country in showrooms and online forums.
