A fake notification claiming Punjab ministers received a 40 million rupee grant for personal makeup and presentation expenses has been circulating on social media.
A notification circulated on social media in recent days claiming that the Punjab government had approved a special grant of 40 million rupees for personal makeup and presentation expenses of senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari.
The notification is dated January 12, 2026. Many users have questioned the authenticity of the document.
Responding to the matter, Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari said the notification is fake and fabricated.
She further clarified that it has no connection with the Punjab government.
Several social media users condemned the fake notification. They said such false and misleading propaganda violates ethical and legal limits.
Users also warn that such fake news and information causes confusion and unrest in society and is easy to circulate on social media.
Some users stressed that the trend of spreading fake news cannot end unless strict action is taken against those who are responsible.
Social media users demanded that strict legal measures should be taken to discourage such false notifications in the future.

Marriyum Aurangzeb caught public attention after her appearance at Junaid Safdar’s wedding went viral on social media.
Many netizens speculated that she had undergone facial surgeries.
However, her mother, Tahira Aurangzeb, denied these rumours.
She explained that Marriyum Aurangzeb had been following a strict diet for the past few months.
The weight loss caused her current appearance, according to her.
“My daughter has been on a strict diet for the past two to three months. I have also guided her. She is only drinking tea and coffee. She has become a little thinner, so she looks like this. She has not had any surgery,” Tahira Aurangzeb said.
