Pakistan accepts invitation
Pakistan has accepted the invitation to join the Gaza Board of Peacen in response to an invitation from US President Donald Trump, to support the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan under the framework of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, on Wednesday.
Pakistan has also expressed hope that the new framework will lead to a permanent ceasefire and an increased humanitarian aid for Palestinians and the reconstruction of Gaza.
The statement further emphasised its support for a credible, time-bound political process to achieve the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people, in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
Pakistan envisions an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
“Pakistan also hopes that these efforts will lead to the realisation of the right to self-determination of the people of Palestine, through a credible, time-bound political process, consistent with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions,” the statement read.
It further added, “resulting in the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.”
Previously, Pakistan received an invitation from the United States (US) President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Board of Peace.
