DI Khan wedding attack: Sohail Afridi takes immediate notice

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, took immediate notice of the bomb blast in Dera Ismail Khan and strongly condemned the incident.  

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report of the incident and asked authorities to ensure the best medical treatment for the injured.

CM KP also instructed security agencies to investigate the incident properly and confirmed that strict action would be taken against those responsible. However, Sohail Afridi expressed solidarity with the affected families of the DI Khan wedding attack.

He further stated that the KP government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the families of martyrs in this time of grief and sorrow.

blast occurred during a wedding ceremony near Qureshi Mor in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday. It resulted in five people being killed and several others being injured.

According to police, a wedding ceremony was underway near Qureshi Mor in the Dera Ismail Khan area on Friday when a powerful explosion suddenly took place.

This caused panic among those present. As a result of the blast, five people lost their lives on the spot, while several others sustained injuries.

Rescue officials said that the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where the condition of some of the wounded is reported to be critical. In view of this, there are fears that the death toll may rise, sources say.

Police and other law enforcement agencies have reached the site and cordoned off the area to collect evidence.
