The Punjab government has announced the provincial laptop scheme for students of private universities.
Punjab’s Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz said Punjab has already been providing free laptops to students of public sector universities and has now decided to extend the same facility to private university students.
Private university students who have secured at least 65 per cent marks will be eligible to apply for a free laptop.

Students can apply through the official portal at cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk.
It is pertinent to mention that this laptop scheme is a fair and transparent distribution of laptops. Universities will coordinate with the Higher Education Department to ensure students meet eligibility criteria and receive devices promptly without bureaucratic delays.
The CM emphasised that education is a fundamental right for every student, regardless of whether they study in public or private institutions. She reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to creating equal opportunities for students across all sectors. This announcement was not merely a routine update but a policy signal that inclusivity and digital access will remain central to future education reforms.
