President Zardari reaches Kyrgyzstan on an official visit

President Asif Ali Zardari reached Kyrgyzstan on a four-day official visit. President Japarov welcomed President Zardari at Issyk-Kul International Airport, where he also received a guard of honour.

President Zardari is the first Pakistani president to visit Kyrgyzstan since former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto visited the country in 1995.

During the visit, President Zardari and President Japarov will discuss the full range of bilateral ties and explore ways to strengthen cooperation.

The two leaders will hold talks on trade, investment, energy, minerals, agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, the digital economy, and people-to-people exchanges.

They will also discuss ways to deepen the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and boost regional cooperation.

Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan will never compromise on the Indus Water Treaty, adding that the country is ready to fight for the rights of the people, the private media outlet reported on Monday.

He slammed India for using the treaty as a political tool of pressure. While addressing the oath-taking ceremony in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), PPP Chairman praised the people of GB and declared them the courageous people of the country.
