NCP vehicles, contraband goods worth Rs235mn seized

With the timely support and coordination of law enforcement agencies, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta has seized Non-Customs Paid (NCP) vehicles and contraband goods valued at Rs 235 million during a series of intelligence-based operations conducted within its jurisdiction.

According to the press release, the seizures included Toyota Mark X and Honda Accord vehicles, dumper trucks, bowzers, trailers, and various contraband items such as betel nuts, tyres, Chinese salt, solar batteries and silver. The tentative CIF value of the confiscated vehicles and goods has been assessed at Rs 235 million.

These operations were carried out based on credible intelligence as part of ongoing efforts to curb smuggling and illegal trade. The successful actions underscore Pakistan Customs’ continued commitment to protecting the national economy through effective border control and enforcement measures.

The cooperation and timely assistance of law enforcement agencies in Balochistan played a vital role in ensuring the success of these operations.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reaffirmed its resolve to continue strict enforcement against smuggling and illicit trade, while maintaining close coordination with relevant agencies to safeguard legitimate businesses and the national economy.

On the other hand, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspect involved in visa fraud at Karachi airport.

According to media reports, FIA immigration staff arrested a passenger, Muhammad Sameer, who was travelling to Malaysia on a visit visa at Karachi airport. During inspection, fake arrival and departure stamps from Qatar, Malaysia were found on the passenger’s passport.

The passenger revealed that he had obtained the fake stamps from an agent in exchange for 3,000 Malaysian ringgit. He was later transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal action.

Meanwhile, the FIA also arrested two suspects involved in visa fraud and human trafficking in Faisalabad. The arrested individuals include Faisal and a proclaimed offender, Naeem Farooq. They were apprehended from Mianwali and Okara.
