Web desk: The application submission phase for the e-taxi scheme 2025, introduced by the Punjab government, has been completed, and now candidates are waiting for the announcement of the date of e-balloting.
As per the details, this scheme is an important step taken towards a clean, green and modern transport system across the province.
A government spokesperson said that this scheme is part of the government’s vision of environmental protection, women’s empowerment and increasing employment opportunities.
Under this scheme, interest-free loans will be provided to eligible citizens so that they can purchase electric vehicles and use them for commercial purposes. This scheme not only aims to reduce air pollution but also allocates a special quota for women.
According to officials, if the number of applications received exceeds the available vehicles, e-balloting will be conducted to ensure transparency. However, the official announcement of the e-balloting has not been made yet.
Government sources say that details in this regard will be released soon through official media.
The deadline for submitting applications for the Punjab Chief Minister’s E-Taxi Scheme has officially ended, and now the lucky applicants will be selected through a computerised draw.
Under this initiative, vehicles will be provided to applicants on interest-free and easy instalments.
Easy repayment plan for the e-taxi scheme:
The loan is to be repaid in 57 equal monthly instalments, which include both the principal amount and insurance.
Borrowers will also benefit from a three-month grace period before the repayment schedule begins, allowing them time to plan their finances.
Date of computerised balloting for the e-taxi scheme:
If the number of applications matches the number of available vehicles, all eligible applicants will be accommodated.
However, in the case of excess applications, vehicles will be distributed through a transparent, computerised balloting process.
So far, the Punjab government has not yet announced the date for the e-balloting.
