In a tragic road accident at Motorway M-4 Khanewal, a high speed passenger bus was a colliding with a Bolan van.

Three persons were killed on the spot as claimed by one of the spokespersons with four others having sustained serious injuries.

The accident was occurred when the Bolan van is unlikely to have created a technical hitch and was out of fuel, leading to the vehicle halting along the motorway.

According to the spokesperson, the passenger bus that was approaching the van extremely fast, which was standing on the spot, hit it.

When the information was received, the motorway police rushed to the scene and transported the injured and the dead to the hospital within the area.

The initial reports indicate that there was a failure of the Bolan van that led to the collision by the bus.

Lodhran road accident: four killed, 30 injured


In a separate incident at least four people were killed and 30 others injured in a tragic road accident in Lodhran on Sunday when a coaster carrying wedding guests collided with a truck.

Following the accident, an emergency was declared at the District Headquarters Hospital in Lodhran to provide immediate medical treatment to the injured.

According to Rescue and district administration officials, the accident occurred due to overspeeding when the coaster, which was also filled with wedding guests, crashed head-on into a truck that was coming from the opposite direction.

The collision was so severe that the coaster was badly damaged and several passengers were trapped inside the vehicle.

Rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the incident and launched relief operations.

Rescue officials said four people died on the spot, while 30 others were injured.

The injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital Lodhran, where they are currently receiving treatment.

District Emergency Officer Shakeel Anjum said that four critically injured passengers were referred to Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital for further treatment. While others remain under care at Lodhran hospital.
