Power outage schedule announced for Rawalpindi

Due to emergency maintenance works, no electricity supply will come from the 132 kV Swan Grid Station on February 1, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, according to a spokesperson.

The areas affected by the power outage will be 11 kV feeders tapped from the Power Transformers T-1, T-2 and T-3. The concerned feeders are Jail Park, Zeta, Pindi Board, RCCI, Pepsi Cola, FF Hospital and Zaraj-2, said the spokesperson.

In addition, there would also be electricity supply disruptions in Park View, Swan Indus, Sarwar Shaheed, IST, Zaraj Housing, Wilayat Complex and Car Chowk areas during the said hours.

Power supply for Mehboob Humak, Model Town, Dhok Awan and Morgah feeders will also be temporarily suspended.

IESCO said that the maintenance works to be undertaken shall further enhance the distribution system and improve the overall power supply.

PM announces massive cut in electricity prices

In a separate development Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a massive cut in electricity prices today for the industrial sector. The reduction will be Rs4 and 4 paisas in the electricity tariff for industry.

Addressing a ceremony in the federal capital held in honour of the country’s prominent exporters and business personalities, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the government’s job is not to do business, but to provide a favourable environment for it.

He said that the entire nation has sacrificed, the poor have faced hardships, now we have to move towards growth, the suggestions of the business community are welcome, and economic policies will be made after consultation with the trader community.

Political and military cooperation is opening the paths for national development.

PM said that Pakistan has achieved successes on the diplomatic and defence fronts. After victory in the “Marka-e-Haq,” Pakistan has achieved a unique position in the world.

After victory, during international tours, we have seen attitudes change. The Pakistani passport is now looked upon with respect worldwide.
