Host team Rawalpindi lifted the Chief of Army Staff Inter-District Club Hockey Championship trophy after defeating Jhelum 6-4 in a thrilling final played at the Shahnaz Sheikh Hockey Stadium.
Rawalpindi dominated key moments of the match, with Asad Ali and Hammad Zafar scoring two goals each.
For Jhelum, Muhammad Saif netted two goals, while Haseeb Mustafa added one, but their efforts fell short against a well-organised Rawalpindi side.
Teams from Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and Attock participated in the tournament, which was organised by the Pakistan Hockey Federation.
A large number of spectators turned out to witness the final, reflecting growing interest in domestic hockey.
Prominent personalities in attendance included former Pakistan Hockey Federation treasurer Muhammad Akhlaq Usmani, Faheem Anwar Khan, Zulfiqar Baig, Zaheer-ul-Haq, Muhammad Zahid, and international umpire Zahid Khan.
Shadran officiated the match as judge, while Waqas Butt and Jamil Butt performed umpiring duties.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Muhammad Akhlaq Usmani praised the Pakistan Army, calling it a source of national pride. He described the Chief of Army Staff Inter-Club Hockey Championship as a significant milestone for the promotion and revival of hockey in the country.
The event concluded with the presentation of the trophy to the winning Rawalpindi team amid applause from players and spectators alike.
