She also spoke about how divorced women are often judged in Pakistan. Mira said people usually think a woman could not “adjust” after a marriage ends.
However, she said she never let such comments affect her. She added that she does not search for herself online or pay attention to public opinion.
Talking about what she learned from the experience, Mira said the first lesson was to trust her instincts.
She said many women ignore their inner feelings and try to convince themselves that everything is fine when it is not.
Her second lesson was not to change herself to make other people happy. She said women should not try to fit someone else’s expectations, whether it is a husband, boyfriend, or even a boss. According to her, changing yourself for others is not healthy.
Mira said that she does not see her divorce as a failure. Instead, she believes it helped her grow as a person.
She said the experience made her stronger and more mature. She also said enough time has passed since the divorce, and she has now moved on with her life.
During the podcast, Mira also talked about her childhood. She described herself as a child who spent a lot of time daydreaming.
She said she became emotionally closer to her parents only in the last five years. Moving back home and having honest conversations with them helped her heal.
