Pakistani fast bowler, Hasan Ali, has been seen celebrating Basant ahead of the festival along with his family on social media.
Hasan Ali is a popular cricketer who plays for the national team of Pakistan. The medium-fast bowler is renowned for his blend variations and a simple bowling action.
He became the fastest Pakistani to take three or five times in his first 15 ODIs at the height of his career. His remarkable debut came in 2013 when he was only 19. He took 4 for 32 against Lahore Ravi.
However, nobody could have predicted the influence that he would have on the 2017 Champions Trophy, his first international competition. He finished as the tournament’s top wicket-taker with 13 at an average of 14.69 and only 4.29 per over, having taken three wickets in each of Pakistan’s last four games.
Hasan Ali’s success
Pakistan won its first international ODI trophy since the 1992 World Cup owing in large part to his ability to deliver consistent middle-overs strikes. With 45 wickets that year, he was the most prolific bowler in ODIs in the world, the PCB’s ODI cricketer of the year, and Player of the Tournament.
His international performance in all formats declined significantly the next year, but he continued to deliver excellence in the PSL where he initially played for Islamabad United and later on, for Karachi Kings.
After Naseem Shah’s injury, Hasan Ali replaced him in Pakistan’s 2023 ODI World Cup squad.
