Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sohail Afridi, said that the terrorism from Pakistan will be wiped out very soon, a private media outlet reported on Friday.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said while addressing a ceremony in Peshawar that the provincial and federal governments will work together to eliminate terrorism from the country. He further added that terrorism can only be eliminated by working together and supporting each other.
He praised the armed forces as well as the police, saying that several police officials sacrificed their lives to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.
Sohail Afridi also said that the KP police is also being strengthened and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has also been given the authority to deal with terrorism properly. He said that the Safe City Project in Peshawar will soon become fully operational.

Earlier, last month, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, took immediate notice of the bomb blast in Dera Ismail Khan and strongly condemned the incident.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report of the incident and asked authorities to ensure the best medical treatment for the injured.
CM KP also instructed security agencies to investigate the incident properly and confirmed that strict action would be taken against those responsible. However, Sohail Afridi expressed solidarity with the affected families of the DI Khan wedding attack.
He further stated that the KP government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the families of martyrs in this time of grief and sorrow.
A blast occurred during a wedding ceremony near Qureshi Mor in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday. It resulted in five people being killed and several others being injured.
