Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has reportedly tied the knot with Hamza Habib in a private nikah ceremony held earlier this week. This news comes during an ongoing legal and harassment controversy that has attracted the attention of many people.
Momina Iqbal’s marriage to Hamza Habib
The marriage was publicly confirmed by Hamza Habib during his appearance at the Lahore High Court. He referred to Momina Iqbal as his “legal wife” when he was speaking to reporters outside the court.
According to the reports, the court granted Hamza protective bail until June 1 in a case that was registered by Jhang police. It had been registered over alleged death threats issued to a man identified as Saqib Chadhar.
Speaking to the media, Hamza denied all allegations against him. He described the FIR as “false” and “politically motivated.”
He also claimed that pressure had been placed on him to end his relationship with the actress.
“I am married to Momina Iqbal; she is my legal wife and my honour,” Hamza said during the interaction. The statement quickly went viral across Pakistani social media platforms.
Rumours regarding the actress’s marriage had been circulating online for several days. This was even before the court appearance confirmed the development publicly.
Earlier, actress Momina Iqbal’s sister and legal representative, Rimsha Iqbal, had stated that the nikah ceremony was originally planned for June 1 with the consent of both families. However, recent reports suggest the couple quietly completed the ceremony on May 23.
Momina Iqbal’s husband
The marriage comes as there is an ongoing controversy involving alleged harassment and threats against the actress and her family.
Momina Iqbal had earlier claimed through social media posts that she was facing intimidation from a politically influential individual.
According to Rimsha Iqbal, authorities also provided security to both the actress’s family. And her in-laws are following the reported threats linked to the case.
The controversy has continued to generate strong reactions online. Many social media users are expressing support for the actress and her decision to pursue the matter publicly.
