Afghanistan has strongly condemned the deadly suicide bombing that struck a mosque in Tarlai on the outskirts of Rawalpindi.
In a statement, the spokesman for the Afghan Foreign Ministry expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and injuries suffered by worshippers in the attack.
The ministry emphasised that targeting mosques and religious gatherings is contrary to both Islamic and human values, and that attacks on civilians and worshippers are unacceptable and condemnable.
The spokesman also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Tarlai mosque blast
It is worth mentioning here that as a result of a suicide blast at a Mosque in Tarlai outskirts of Rawalpindi, 31 people have been martyred. Several worshippers were injured.
IG Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi’s cousin, Assistant Patrolling Officer, Shahzeb Javed, has also been martyred in the Tarlai mosque blast on the outskirts of Rawalpindi, on Friday.
According to reports, he was IG Islamabad’s first cousin. Additionally, reports suggest that his father has also been injured.
The suicide bomber was intercepted before the bomb blast. Sources also add that the bomber detonated after seeing that he was being stopped.
Sources say that if the suicide bomber had not intercepted on time, he would have gone to the main hall of the mosque. This would have caused a much bigger tragedy.
