BLA attacks aimed at making propaganda videos, says journalist Talat Hussain

Journalist Talat Hussain has said that attacks by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were entirely “content creation operations” designed not to achieve battlefield victories but to produce propaganda videos and craft a narrative through social media.

In a series of tweets, he noted, “Despite mobile data being shut down in many areas, the BLA managed to upload videos of their attacks using satellite uplinks specifically portable broadband terminals capable of 1 Mbps uplink speed and 38 hours of standby time.”

Citing security sources, he said, “Each BLA team carried at least three cameras, a Thuraya terminal, a satellite phone, and solar-powered backups, making them technically self-sufficient in remote terrain.”

Earlier, Pakistan urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to move swiftly to designate the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a terrorist organisation under its sanctions regime.

“We hope the council will act swiftly to designate BLA under the 1267 sanctions regime, acceding to the listing request that is currently under consideration,” Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, told a UNSC briefing on ‘Threats to International Peace and Security caused by Terrorist Acts’.

Security forces have successfully concluded “Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1” in Balochistan.
