No one can stop Lahories from celebrating Basant, says Aleema Khan

Aleema Khan, while talking to the media on Monday, said that no one can stop Lahoris from celebrating Basant.

She added that the passion for Basant was visible everywhere in the city. Adding that the children were taking part in the celebrations enthusiastically.

She shared that her own son joined in the celebrations, and she herself flew kites on the occasion.

She said that they flew kites at home that had ‘804’ written on them.

The sister of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder, Aleema Khan, further claimed that the strike PTI had called was successful.

While addressing a ceremony about the Basant Festival, CM Maryam said that in her 52 years of life, this was the first time she had seen such strong enforcement of the law.

The traffic police performed their duties very well. She praised the health sector and appreciated LESCO, the interior department, and all other institutions for performing their responsibilities properly.

She said police reforms are being planned, and once again stated that PTI’s tactics failed and people celebrated Basant enthusiastically. Those who gave calls for their own interests faced defeat, she added further.

Previously, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz announced good news for Lahoreis. She announced that the Basant celebrations till Monday, 5:00 AM.

She described the extension as a reward for the people of Lahore, who celebrated Basant with discipline and responsibility.

“Looking at the incredible energy, festivity, unity, and joy across Lahore, Punjab and Pakistan, as Basant returns after 25 years, I am pleased to announce that Basant celebrations timings are being extended till 5:00 AM tomorrow morning,” she stated in an X post.

She further added, “This extension is a reward for the people of Lahore for celebrating Basant with great discipline and for responsibly following all safety SOPs.”

Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that the people have rejected Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) strike call.

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz added that the people of Punjab have rejected the culture of abusive language, chaos and violence.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while addressing a ceremony about the Basant Festival, said that people have rejected the culture of chaos and disorder.

She said that in Punjab, there was zero strike, zero wheel-jam, and zero shutter-down.

Further, she added that PTI’s tactics did not work. She said that the people of Punjab completely rejected the call for a strike.
