Murree roads cleared after snowfall

Tourists have started to throng Murree following the fresh snowfall, which continued late into the night. Around four inches of snow has been recorded in the latest spell.

Roads are clear, allowing tourists to safely enjoy the winter scenery and snowfall, according to District Police Officer Murree Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer Supra

Light snowfall continued in Murree till late at night, which later turned into intermittent rain.

According to the DPO, despite the new series of snowfall in Murree, all roads are open for traffic and tourists can head to Malika Kohsar without fear.

DPO Murree said that due to intermittent light snowfall and subsequent rain in the valley last night, the intensity of cold has increased, the temperature has dropped to 3 degrees Celsius, while about four inches of snow has been recorded.

Immediately after the snowfall, the administration and traffic police have shown diligence and cleared the roads. All the main highways of Murree are open for traffic and no road is blocked. Traffic flow is normal and there are no reports of vehicles getting stuck or tourists getting stranded anywhere.

DPO Murree Dr. Raza Tanveer Supra, while issuing instructions to tourists, said that visibility may be affected due to heavy fog and weather changes, so drivers should ensure the use of fog lights while traveling. In view of the risk of slippery roads, avoid speeding and overtaking and maintain a proper distance between vehicles.

He further said that the traffic police, district police and administration are present on the roads to facilitate and guide tourists. For help in any emergency situation, tourists can immediately contact emergency number 15 or the traffic police helpline.
