General Bajwa suffers injuries after falling inside his home

Former Army Chief Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa is under treatment at CMH in Rawalpindi after sustaining injuries due to a fall inside his home, according to ISPR.

Former Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa sustained an injury after falling at his residence, according to ISPR.

He is currently under treatment at CMH (Combined Military Hospital), ISPR stated.

Qamar Javed Bajwa is a retired four star general who served as the 16th Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan from November of the year 2016 to November of the year 2022.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who is the current Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, took his place later.

Bajwa joined the Pakistan Army in 1980, in the Baloch Regiment, and served for more than 40 years.

During his career, he held important positions. These positions include Corps Commander of X Corps in Rawalpindi, which is a key military formation.

He also served as Inspector General Training and Evaluation at General Headquarters. There, he oversaw training and operational readiness across the army.

He gained international experience by serving in UN peacekeeping missions, including in Congo.

During his time as army chief, his term was extended by three years. This kept him in office until November 2022.
