Murad Saeed has resigned from his Senate seat as a protest and sent his resignation to the party leadership.
He has also called for collective resignations from the Senate, National Assembly and the Punjab and Sindh assemblies.
Murad Saeed demanded that Imran Khan be provided immediate medical treatment in the presence of his personal doctors alleging that Supreme Court orders are not being implemented. He claimed that youth have been blocking highways for the past 36 hours.
Murad Saeed said that members staging peaceful sit-ins were confined inside Parliament and appealed to expand protests across the country. He proposed mass resignations from all legislatures as a united response.
According to party sources his resignation was sent to PTI’s caretaker chairman Barrister Gohar and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.
It is pertinent to mention that the federal government has decided to transfer Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, to a hospital.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the government has taken this decision in view of Imran Khan’s health.
In a tweet, he said, “The government prioritises humanitarian compassion and legal requirements. Providing facilities to every prisoner in accordance with the law is the government’s responsibility.”
“Politics should not be done on sensitive matters like health. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should refrain from baseless propaganda or political point-scoring”, he added.
Imran Khan was diagnosed with a serious eye condition known as Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO), a disorder that commonly affects older adults and is linked to underlying cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease.
Earlier, Khan had been allowed a phone call with his sons, Kasim Khan and Suleiman Isa Khan.
The Supreme Court (SC) ordered that Imran be allowed to speak to his children.
