Pakistan has facilitated the safe arrival and transit of 22 Iranian crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, which had recently been interdicted by United States authorities, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Friday.
In a statement shared on X, Dar confirmed that the crew members arrived in Karachi on Friday afternoon and that arrangements were underway in coordination with Iranian diplomatic missions in Pakistan to ensure their swift and safe return to Iran.
He noted that Pakistani authorities remained in continuous contact with both US and Iranian officials throughout the process to facilitate the repatriation.
This marks the fourth group of Iranian nationals assisted by Pakistan over the past two months. According to the foreign minister, more than 70 Iranian crew members have been repatriated through Pakistani territory during this period, including the latest group.
Dar expressed gratitude to the Iranian leadership for their trust in Pakistan and commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant institutions for their coordinated efforts to ensure a smooth humanitarian operation.
