The Federal Constitutional Court has issued a notification regarding new timings for the holy month of Ramzan.
The notification was released after approval by the Chief Justice. It outlines revised working hours for court offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Revised schedule during Ramzan
According to the notice, court offices will operate from 9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Thursday.
On Fridays and Saturdays, offices will close earlier, with working hours set from 9:00am to 12:30pm.
The court said the revised timings will remain in place for the entire month of Ramadan.
Restrictions on case submissions
The notification also stated that no cases will be accepted during the final hour before the close of the office each day.
However, an exception has been made for matters considered extremely urgent or of an emergency nature. Such cases may still be received if necessary and will not be subject to the standard time restrictions.
The new timings introduced for courts will remain in effect till the entire month of Ramzan.
Ramzan timing for Passport offices
The Government of Pakistan has issued revised working hours for passport offices across the country during the holy month of Ramzan. Officials have also shared information regarding passport fees.
The new schedule applies to Regional Passport Offices (RPOs), Executive Passport Offices and Passport Processing Counters nationwide.
Office hours for Passport office
According to the official notification, public service hours, including token issuance, will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Thursday.
However, overall office working hours for staff will remain from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
A daily prayer break has also been scheduled from 1:00pm to 1:30pm during Ramzan.
On Fridays, public dealing and token issuance will take place from 9:00am to 12:30pm.
Office staff will continue to work from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Exemption from new schedule
Authorities said the revised Ramzan timings will not apply to certain offices.
These include RPO G-10/4 Islamabad, RPO Garden Town Lahore, RPO Awami Markaz Karachi and NADRA Mega Centres. These centres will continue to operate under their existing schedules.
Officials said the revised timings are part of routine arrangements made during Ramzan to facilitate the public while maintaining regular operations.
