The French Embassy in Pakistan has issued a warning regarding a persistent visa fraud racket following receiving several complaints from applicants.
In a statement acknowledged the embassy that scammers are using fake identities, emails and documents while pretending to represent French diplomatic offices.
These fraudsters falsely claim to be able to expedite or guarantee the visa approvals in return for large sums of money.
The embassy clarified that the authorization of collecting visa fees outside official procedures is not made by any individual or agent. All payments corresponding to visas are done strictly in designated and approved channels.
Officials further said that fake documents circulating on the internet had nothing to do with the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs or any official French institution.
Visa applicants have been advised to only check information on official platforms and be careful as these kinds of scams may result in not only financial losses but also compromise personal information.
