The ICC T20 World Cup is currently being played in India and Sri Lanka, with the tournament set to enter its Super Eight stage.
Interestingly, some Italian cricketers in a video of an online interview were seen mocking the host, India. It seemed that even an international team suffered from poor basic amenities while residing in India.
In the video, an Italian player can be seen sharing his experience before starting the ICC T20 World Cup. The player suggested that he and two other players, Justin and AJ went to Finland before the tournament and have grown a bit since then.
In Finland they would spend most of their evenings in pubs, drinking something the player called a stein. He added that they used to drink a few stiens.
After that, they again went out and found themselves in a Karaoke bar. They would stay in the bar till 4 am. The interesting comment came after this.
The player first said that they are now in Indian waters, meaning that they have arrived in India. After that, the player said mockingly that they are not in Indian tap water, further commenting that they are a professional team.
The comment seems to be mocking the poor basic amenities in India. It could be possible that the Italian team itself suffered from the lack of good amenities. India does have a very poor civic infrastructure.
Some sources suggest that Indian tap water is highly dangerous to use, as it is filled with bacteria, viruses and heavy metals.
