Pakistan, along with thirteen other Islamic-Arab nations and Muslim organisations, has condemned the inflammatory comments made by the US Ambassador in Tel Aviv, who supported the expansion of Israel in the West Bank and extensive areas of the Middle East.
In a joint statement released by Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Saturday, the Muslim bloc expressed its strong condemnation and deep concern regarding the pro-Israel remarks made by the US Ambassador.
The remarks implied that it would be permissible for Israel to assert control over territories belonging to Arab nations, including the occupied West Bank.
Muslim countries denounce US Ambassador’s remarks
The Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Türkiye, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Lebanese Republic, the Syrian Arab Republic, and the State of Palestine, along with the secretariats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), have denounced the US diplomat’s inflammatory statements.
They reaffirm their countries’ unequivocal rejection of such perilous and inflammatory comments made in favour of Israel’s expansion.
Muslim countries including Pakistan stated that the comments made by the US Ambassador in support of Israel represent a blatant violation of international law principles and the Charter of the United Nations, and pose a significant threat to the security and stability of the region.
The Ministries emphasised that these statements are in direct contradiction to the vision articulated by US President Donald Trump, as well as the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.
The plan aims to contain escalation and establish a political framework for a comprehensive resolution that guarantees the Palestinian people their own independent state.
They highlighted that the plan is founded on fostering tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and that remarks aimed at legitimising control over the lands of others undermine these goals and exacerbate tensions.
