The Islamabad Police have persisted in their operations against organised crime in 2026, achieving remarkable progress in several high-profile cases.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, along with SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt and SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, provided the updates on significant developments.
Islamabad Police operations against organised crime
On February 16, a robbery occurred at a private bank located in the Blue Area of Kohsar.
Islamabad Police swiftly identified and apprehended four dangerous suspects, including gang leader Zia Ullah, in Peshawar and Karak, using advanced technical tools, CCTV footage, and human intelligence.
The items seized included Rs3000,000 in cash, three pistols, and a motorcycle.
Security guard Abdul Rahman was recognised as an accomplice by the police.
In a separate incident, the Loh-e-Bheer police detained three members of an organised TCS gang: Muneeb Sohail Rajput, Muhammad Faheem, and Iftikhar Ahmed.
They recovered cash, both Pakistani and foreign currency, gold, and other valuables valued at approximately Rs173000,000.
This gang had been targeting citizens by impersonating courier company officials.
In another investigation, the blind murder case in Kirpa led to the arrest of suspect Adnan Shaukat Satti, who was charged with the firearm murder of Hamid Khan over a property dispute.
Robbery and burglary gangs arrested
Furthermore, three members of a notorious residential burglary gang were apprehended, with recovered items exceeding Rs115000,000 in value, including currency, gold, mobile phones, and various other valuables.
DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq reassured that the Islamabad Police is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of citizens, and that law enforcement operations will persist without exception.
Citizens have also been encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activities to help with police efforts.
