Sidra Amin, a batter of the Pakistan women’s cricket team, has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching the Code of Conduct during the first One Day International (ODI) against the South Africa women’s national cricket team.
According to an ICC statement, during the match played in Bloemfontein, Sidra Amin violated Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Support Staff, which relates to the misuse of cricket equipment or ground equipment during a match.
The incident occurred in the 24th over of Pakistan’s innings when she threw her bat to the ground in frustration after being dismissed.
As a result, she received an official reprimand and one demerit point. This is her second offence in the past 24 months, bringing her total to two demerit points.
She had previously received one demerit point for a similar breach during a match against India’s women’s national cricket team in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
Sidra Amin admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by the match referee, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
It is worth noting that the Pakistan women’s national cricket team defeated the South Africa women’s national cricket team by 53 runs in the third T20 International.
In the match played in Benoni, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 144 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 47 runs, while Sidra Amin and Aliya Riaz contributed 26 runs each.
South Africa was bowled out for 91 runs in 16.5 overs. Sadia Iqbal took 3 wickets, Fatima Sana 2, and Ayesha Zafar 1. Pakistan also delivered an excellent fielding performance.
Despite Pakistan’s victory in the third match, South Africa won the three-match T20 series 2–1.
