The Government of the United Kingdom (UK) has introduced a new e visa system for Pakistani citizens.
Under this new system, visa stickers will no longer be placed on passports. This means that the visa approval will now be verified through digital records.
The aim of this new visa system is to make the process safer, faster and easier for people.
UK introduces new e-visa system for Pakistanis
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott said that applicants will submit their visa forms online.
They will have to visit a visa application centre for biometric verification. However, they will not need to return to collect their passports.
Afterwards, the successful applicants will receive an official digital visa record. This record will be available through their UK Visas and Immigration account.
Applicants will also receive a share code. They can show this code at border control points or to other relevant authorities when they need to in order to confirm the status of their visa.
The new system will reduce the risk of documents being lost or damaged. It will also make immigration records more secure and easier to access.
Jane Marriott further expressed satisfaction over the change. She said that the new system will make travel to the United Kingdom easier for Pakistanis.
She added that it will save time and make the application process simple and secure.
This system was introduced successfully last year for student and work visa applicants.
British authorities have advised applicants to submit their forms directly through the official website.
They have warned people not to use unauthorised agents. The new digital visa system is expected to make the visa process quicker and more convenient for Pakistani travellers.

Big update for UK visa applicants
Prior to this, the United Kingdom made it clear that it would take tough action against employers who are participating in fraudulent visa sponsorship schemes.
According to British media reports, companies that break immigration laws would face a ban on hiring workers from overseas.
Authorities say fake sponsorship cases have multiplied by five and are now being more closely monitored.
The move is part of wider measures to avoid the misuse of the immigration system and enhance compliance with immigration rules on sponsoring migrants.
