India will face New Zealand in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final that will be played in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
India qualified for the final after defeating England by 7 runs in an exciting second semi-final. Chasing India’s target of 254 runs, England could only manage 246 runs.
India set England a target of 253 runs to win, and England tried hard to chase the massive total in the second semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup but failed.
Match played in Mumbai. England captain Harry Brook won the toss and invited India to bat first.
India scored 253 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sanju Samson was the standout performer for India, scoring 89 runs.
In addition, Shivam Dube scored 43, Ishan Kishan made 39, Suryakumar Yadav scored 11, Hardik Pandya added 27, and Tilak Varma contributed 21 runs.
For England, Will Jacks and Adil Rashid took two wickets each.
It is worth noting that New Zealand qualified for the final after defeating South Africa in the first semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup. The final of the T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Thanks to an unbeaten century off 33 balls by Fin XI in the first semi-final played yesterday, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 9 wickets and reached the final.
Former cricketer Mohammad Amir has declared England the favourite against India.
It should be noted that the England cricket team had previously defeated the India national cricket team by 10 wickets in the World Cup.
