Why did IBCC suddenly stop verifying degrees across Pakistan?

IBCC stopped verifying certificates

The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has stopped verifying Matric and Inter certificates across Pakistan, a private media channel reported on Friday.

According to the media report, the IBCC halted verification of the certificates due to the possible threat of cyber attacks in the country.

The details also confirmed that the IBBC had stopped verifying the certificates of A-level and O-level across Pakistan. Similarly, the IBCC verification is completely closed, and you can’t even request online verification from the IBCC.

The IBCC stopped verifying certificates following the advisory issued by the Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Students worried after IBBC announced no verification

Students across Pakistan, including the students of Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta, are worried and facing difficulty after the IBBC stopped verifying Inter and Matric certificates. According to the media report, A-level and O-level certificates are not being verified by the IBCC.

The sources from the IBCC also confirmed that the already registered individuals can only see their cases on the portal. However, the new cases on the IBCC’s portals are not being registered.

The CERT advisory was issued in the wake of cyber attacks on the websites of various TV channels and government agencies last week.

Meanwhile, the IBCC Executive Director, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, said that the IBCC portal is being restored for the users in Pakistan. However, the IBCC portal will stay in “read-only mode” for the users abroad.
