Govt announces all educational institutes will remain closed on March 11

A public holiday has been declared in educational institutions in Sindh on March 11, 2026, on the occasion of Youm-i-Ali (RA).  

Schools and colleges will remain closed on the 21st of Ramzan in observance of Youm Ali (RA), according to the notification issued by the government.

The holiday has been announced following the decisions of Sindh’s sub-committee of the Steering Committee on Education.

Youm-e-Ali, observed annually on the 21st of Ramzan, is commemorated with large processions across the country to honour the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA).

In a separate development, authorities in Islamabad have announced a six-day spring break for all educational institutions in the federal capital.

Schools and colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in both urban and rural areas of Islamabad will observe the spring break from March 24.

The federal government has declared a six-day spring break, along with Eid holidays, for schools in Islamabad.

According to the official notification, these institutions will be closed on March 24, March 25, and March 26, and they will be reopened on March 30.

The spring holidays have been scheduled to coincide with the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. It is noteworthy that federal educational institutions observe spring vacations every year.
