Police in Sehwan rescued a 14-year-old girl who kidnappers had abducted 15 days ago from the Kacha area of Khairpur, a private media channel reported on Sunday.
Officials said the police recovered the girl, Naila Chandio, during an operation in the Kacha area. During the raid, police arrested two members of an inter-provincial kidnapping gang. Investigators said the kidnappers had sold the girl for Rs1 million.
Police added that Naila works by selling thread outside the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine. After the rescue, authorities safely reunited her with her family.
Naila’s mother, Zarina, had earlier filed a kidnapping case against suspects Waqar, Zulfiqar, and others. According to the FIR, some laborers working on the Sehwan canal were involved in the abduction.
Police said the kidnappers first kept Naila in Nawabshah and later moved her to the Kacha area of Khairpur. Authorities are now questioning the arrested suspects and say they expect to arrest the remaining members of the gang soon.
