KP: Reforms to be introduced in examination system

The Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Shahab Ali Shah, has announced that reforms will be implemented in the province’s examination system for transparency.

The new reforms are expected to position the improvement of the education system as a primary focus for the KP government.

He expressed these views while leading a review meeting concerning the preparations for the forthcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.

The online meeting was attended by the chairpersons of all educational boards in the province, divisional commissioners, and the Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary received updates from officials of the Education Department regarding the preparations for the SSC exams.

Annual SSC exams in KP will begin on March 31

The meeting revealed that the annual SSC examinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are set to commence on March 31.

This year, several reforms are being introduced to enhance the transparency and efficiency of the examination system in KP.

As per the briefing, three papers from each educational board will be subject to e-marking, while six papers from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar will also be marked electronically.

Furthermore, examinations will be conducted throughout the province using a cluster-based system, which is fully prepared for implementation.

The meeting also confirmed that all examination halls will be provided with essential amenities, including water, CCTV cameras, electricity, and other necessary facilities.

This year, new graduates will be included in the examination staff, and their training is currently in progress.

Stringent measures have been established to prevent cheating, and only personnel demonstrating honest, excellent, and transparent performance will be entrusted with responsibilities.

Section 144 will be enforced around the examination centers, and effective actions have been taken to eliminate cheating materials.
