KP board announces annual exam timetable for class 9th and 10th

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Swat has released the annual exam timetable for Class 9 and 10 students on Wednesday.

According to the schedule, the exams will be held from March 31 to April 20, 2026.

Students are advised to follow the official schedule and prepare accordingly.

The board has also stressed that following the timetable is important for smooth exams and to avoid confusion.

Govt takes major decision for private school teachers

Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority (KP PSRA) has made written contracts mandatory for teachers in private schools.

Schools must now sign formal agreements with teachers before hiring.

The contracts will include salary, working hours, duties, leave, employment duration, and termination conditions.

One copy of the contract will go to the teacher, and the other will stay with the school.

The authority has also warned that strict legal action will be taken against schools that do not follow these rules.

Govt to train teachers for new E-marking system

In a separate development, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwan set to train teachers on e-marking in educational boards.

In this regard, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Swat will also design training workshops in different educational boards in the province.

This is meant to equip the marking rubrics that will be used to assess examination papers on the e marking system and improve the professional capacity of teachers.

KP introduces province wide university ranking system

Previously, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government launched a province wide university ranking system.

Data collection for public and private universities has started in Peshawar. All universities were asked to submit information by February 16.

Rankings will be based on 12 performance indicators covering academics and administration.

An online meeting about the ranking system is scheduled for January 29. This step aims to improve higher education standards in the province.
