Pakistan has sufficient petroleum reserves: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that due to the government’s timely decisions, the country currently has an adequate supply of petroleum products.

He stated that in view of the global situation, consultations are underway on further measures to provide relief to the people. Despite the changing global circumstances, the government has ensured a continuous supply of oil across the country.

He expressed this during an important meeting held under his chairmanship to review the stabilisation of the country’s economy and to discuss relief measures for the public in light of rising global tensions.

He also mentioned that austerity and cost-saving measures have already been implemented at the national level, and further measures are currently being developed.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has already directed that a third-party audit be conducted to ensure the proper implementation of all decisions related to austerity measures.

During the briefing, the meeting was informed that the country’s oil reserves, imports and arrangements to meet demand are being continuously reviewed. The government is also closely monitoring the sale of oil at fixed prices.

The briefing also stated that a new feature has been added to the Pak App for the convenience of consumers. Through this feature, citizens will be able to report complaints about the unavailability of oil or the sale of oil at higher prices anywhere in the country to the relevant authorities, and immediate action will be taken.
